Calottes are used to give a tidy finish and attach a clasp to bracelets or necklaces strung on thread. Knot the thread (or threads ﾖ great for multi-strand pieces) and pass through the small indent so the knot sits inside one half of the calotte. Then squeeze shut using pliers and trim any visible loose ends. Anyone thinking they were posh shorts go to the back of the class!
